I love CH and supported him up to and beyond his last minutes at the Albion.

But, GP has TRANSFORMED the Albion in about 9 months of working with the players. We Albion fans have seen some of the best football that we have ever seen in 40 or 50+ years supporting the club. We have watched our defenders and midfield play lovely attacking football and create more chances per game than ever before in a top flight season. With minor variations in match outcomes, deserved on performance, we would be with the teams in the slices above us and very happy. With Sheff Utd’s or Burnley’s forwards we’d be comfortably top 10 and pushing 6th or 7th this season (Tottenham, Arsenal and Everton being below par...). That was never true during CH’s tenure.

I hope GP is with us for a long time to come and we can hang on to him when his stock rises again.

I’m also backing Dan Ashworth. I’d be very interested in an analysis of the value of all the players we now own, and their costs, compared with all other clubs.

That part of my post had really nothing to do with Chris - I don't wish to discuss Chris on here now. People have had their say on him. And nothing you can say, is something I haven't read from you or others before. You should just leave his legacy for what it is. It isn't up for discussion with me anymore.

That part of my post was used to highlight and act as a confluence of two points

1. Swansman has stated he is on this site for only the tenure of GP

2. To highlight how difficult it is for GP follow a successful Manager. Hence me pointing out how hard it was for CH following Paul Lambert at Norwich

Sitting in the rain at Withdean or trekking to Kent doesn't mean you are the only ones entitled to an opinion.

HOWEVER... Those two actions and many others are an integral aspect of the unique history of this club. From being one game from oblivion, homeless & (nearly) hopeless, we have, because of a number of individuals, a (mostly) supportive city, a certain politician, a local businessman and many others, made it to the other end of the football world. It has been long war and many of the fans (especially here on NSC) bear some very deep scars from the battles fought.

Coming on here, ignoring or ignorant of the history is just crass. Never stepping into the Amex and slagging off the atmosphere and those of us who sing our hearts out whatever the result is just plain rude.

Walk a mile in a man's shoes before you pass judgement on him.

Fans from home and abroad, young and old, rich or poor are all welcome at one of the most accepting and inviting clubs anywhere in the world. But before telling us how to fix all the things about our club, learn what the club is, who the fans are, what makes the city unique and why trekking to Kent or sitting on scaffolding seats in the rain is so so f**king important to so many people here.

Excellent post, pretty much what I and I would guess many others would have said.

Chris is a legend. Always will be for us.

But Potter has shown glimpses of being an exceptional young manager. Despite our results I can’t understand folk here who can’t see the incredible improvement in our style and technique since he’s joined.

As Ive opined before I think the guys just been badly let down by our recruitment. Especially in the striking department.

Again, we love Chris but he‘s a solid one dimensional manager in comparison. Have we forgotten the desperate back to the walls stuff most of last season?

So a guy comes on here and suggests some decent ideas for improving the atmosphere and people jump on him, with some pretty horrible stuff. No doubt the guy has thick enough skin but a bunch of you guys are embarrassing to the club. Fans united? Seems a lot of you have forgotten it was that spirit which saved the club, although seemingly that’s gone now

Oh come on, his post was pretty ridiculous, upto and not excluding the part where he suggested we might like to have a few drinks, make some banners and have sex with eachother. Clearly something has addled his brain!

Also, if this was an isolated post he may have been cut some slack, but coming hot on the heels of his email to Paul Barber, telling him where the club was going wrong, made him fair game for a shut up you twonk* response.

* I like the word twonk and will try and use it more often!

I thought, hang on this blokes fishing!

I then realised you're just culturally unaware of the area where the object of your affection is currently coaching. We don't mingle well with others down here on the south coast, stop trying to introduce socialism. If you want a sense of belonging, go and support one of the multitude of community projects up north

Eh? ???

Well, I don't know about everybody else but I'm fvcking livid. I rolled up at the AMEX this evening with a bed sheet and a 4-pack of lager and asked a woman in the offices if she could show me the way to the sex basement.

Two hours I was in John Street

Frankly, I was lucky to just get a caution.

What lager was it?

You mean you didn’t see everyone’s favourite Swedish banner maker.

A fair post, except:

The football from Jan 15 to Easter 17 was as good as anything I’ve seen from an Albion team, and my start was 1976. Brilliant counter attacking football at pace, we may never see that number of home wins, wins and goals scored over such a short period ever again. Exciting times to be an Albion fan, the Amex vibrant.

Logically, if GP has been let by recruitment (I agree with you, he has been), then so must’ve CH, but more so. We were crying out for the likes of Mooy and Maupay in 2017/18 and 2018/19.

CH was not one dimensional imho.
