New Brighton Manager Set To Be Jim Gannon Or Aidy Boothroyd
Tuesday 24 February 2009 at 12:17
Next Brighton Manager betting odds took on a new shape today as the market was turned upside down. Strong betting moves in Next Manager markets usually mean an appointment is imminent but there a re still some nice prices to be snapped up by punters.
Jim Gannon Promoted To Favouritism
We reported yesterday that VC Bet had already been forced to slash their odds on Jim Gannon getting the job twice and in the last 24 hours the Stockport County boss has been cut from 11/2 into 11/10 with VC Bet. That is quite a gamble. Jim Gannon is surely top of the shortlist.
Boothroyd Odds Shorten As Expected
Another manager who has been really well backed in the last 24 hours is Aidy Bootyroyd who is currently seeking employment. We highlighted the 8/1 on offer with Boothroyd yesterday as a great bet and it certainly proved the case, he has now been backed into 5/2 with VC Bet. If Gannon turns down the job Brighton will surely turn to Boothroyd, who may be the better appointment.
Paul Ince Looks To Have Missed Out
Paul Ince was the initial favourite but he has since drifted out to 11/2 with VC Bet. It may be that Brighton can’t afford Ince or that they even don’t want Ince but it certainly seems as though his chances of managing Brighton have gone.
Plenty Of Other Names In The Frame
Other names that could be of interest in the betting include Andy Hessenthaler (12/1 VC Bet), Lawrie Sanchez (14/1 VC Bet), Iain Dowie (16/1 VC Bet) and Ian Holloway (20/1 VC Bet). To find out the odds on Martin Keown, Alan Curbishley or Paul Jewell landing the job and to see who else is in the running, and their odds, visit the VC Bet website and look under Football Specials for the Next Brighton Manager betting market.
