Better than under McGhee?

It is worse than under McGee. At the start of the season we could play at bit and the performances were better. We could pass it about and with a target man we could have gone forward. We have now gone backwards

Today we had no shape, never won a second ball and quite frankly we did not have a clue what system we were playing.

Figured. Never had a problem attracting players, largely due to their geographical position to the the North Wests big club but somebody who has also been around for many many years.

Anyway, that's irrelevant. Getting rid of McGhee was still right, but putting Wilkins in charge was not, and I said that last week before the Chesterfield game.

When the chants of what a 'what a load of rubbish' went up, I turned to my mate and said: 'What on earth must be going through Dick Knight's head now?'. If either of them have got any pride, one will say to the other, 'OK, this might have been a bit hasty. You hold the ship until I get somebody else in.'

Might sound alarmist after two games, but for a new manager to suffer such a woeful defeat so early in the piece is very bad for the confidence, and this might kill the kids as it threatened to do four years ago.

Why o why did we not learn from that mistake.

So what are you going to do then? Try and force out a second manager at this club in two months?

no where near as bad as the Crewe game. McGhee is the reason we are bad, not replacing the players who left in all his time here yet Wilkins is actually doing something about it 2 in and has only been doing the job month or so

Yeah cos I've really got loads of clout haven't I?

If either DK or DW have got any self-respect, they will realise that this was not a good idea, and bring somebody else in, and soon.

Performances like today, and particularly on the TV when it was a chance to really sell the club to the wider audience, cannot be accepted.

One of them needs to make a u-turn, and let's face it, DK is not adverse to that!

For all his faults I dont think I ever saw a McGhee team play that badly, and that was invariably against much better opposition.

And before people start saying its McGhees team, that doesnt wash, this is the team that Dick Knights sales policy has given us minus that player everyone loved Mark McCammon, and a jumped up prick called Leon Knight.

Stoke last season 5-1 under Mcghee?

That game didnt matter though did it, and Stoke are a million times better than Blackpool.

It f***ing mattered to me and countless other Albion fans that day, just like today's defeat mattered.

Yes but we didn't have a targetman under McGhee and we still don't have one now. So the perfomance against Crewe at home when we lost 4-1 was better than today was it?

Instead we just sit and watch the "fat tossers" aka our "experienced players" carry out a 90 minute rape of the club and pick up 2 grand at the end. Personally, I preferred McGhee to do that.

I don't want any people just turning up for there pay packet to be honest, manager or player.

No it wasn't.
The 1-5 with Stoke, you hasd a group pf players put out by McGhee who were trotting around and clearly couldn't give a f*** (as McGhee had, by that stage, already helpfully told everyone that the season had ended by the Sheff Weds game).

Today, we had a team of kids out there who are utterly out of their depth and befeft of confidence. There is no leadership whatsoever - everyone is left to get on with their own game. There is no cohesion. There IS effort, but its brainless. There is no craft, no guile, no skill, no imagination. Our tactic is not to create space and pass the ball. It is to lump it vaguely into space down the flanks, in the hope of winning a throw-in (and this actually gets applauded).

he squad is now decimated. We are there for the taking by any shit-arsed two-bob team. Blackpool were gash. They were utter pony at the back. Their "excuse" of a back line was so ragged that it only took the most basic of passes to get behind them. Their centrebacks spent half the game booting clearances against their own team-mates arses, and getting away with it because we were so abject that we never came close to taking advantage. And yet that bunch of donkeys just raped us 3-0.

It is now, quite literally, men against boys. The warning signs were there when we handed out 12 pro contracts to the kids in that youth team that did so well in the FA Youth Cup last season. Amongst the positive spin, I had fears that meant the team would be propped up by too many kids, but its gone worse than I envisaged in the summer.

As it stands, we're going down. No two ways about it.

Well, collectively it appears that fans that moan on messageboards, the stands and the phone-in do have a lot of clout at this club. I find that situation appalling, as we could have sacked Micky Adams if that policy had held sway back then.

So Seagull73, you do have more influence than you think. Use it wisely!

McGhee himself later admitted that his own mind wasn't at all on coaching the team for Stoke as he was too busy running around having meetings trying to avoid being stabbed in the back by Tony Bloom.
