anyone remember 10pence the bloke who used to walk around town asking for 10p?

that was entertaining

The beardy one? The startling thing about him was inflation. He went from "have you got a penny sir" to 10p overnight.

Remember him well, used to walk up to you with his thumbs up and ask "have you got 10p mate", so naturally, he was dubbed "10p mate"

Me and my mates used to call him "thumbs up" and always put our thumbs up at him!!!

Never got close enough to hear him ask for 10p though!!

He was indeed a quality entertainer :lolol: I hope he is still alive - we need people like him since Brighton has become a trendy media-type 'city', there don't appear to be the same characters around :nono:

I saw Bert the Bus Heckler the other day. Didn't think he was looking too well. Bert is the best entertainment in Brighton and he is free (so you could keep your 10p for thumbs up).

I thought of him today as some mental black guy with two hats on went past me on a scooter. Proper Odd Squad.

Always used to refer to him as 10p Ted - God knows why though
