Best THREE Cure albums

I found it too difficult to narrow it down to one, so if you were only allowed to have THREE Cure albums, what would they be?

I went for the mid period trio as that was when I was going to see them at every opportunity. Would really like to have picked half a dozen. They should play at the stadium.

Saw them at Brighton Top Rank on the 17 secs promo tour . Still one of my favorite albums .

Pornography. One of the most underrated albums. Would love to see them play it live. Dark brilliance.

Pornography, Disintegration and Head on the Door for me, although HotD is patchy. But where is Standing on a Beach - that one's chock-full of good songs?

Only opened out of curiosity - stunned to see there are that many albums. I couldn't name a single track or album by them, completely passed me by.

Pornography, Disintegration and Head on the Door for me, although HotD is patchy. But where is Standing on a Beach - that one's chock-full of good songs?

You are either fishing or don't know a Greatest Hits album when you see one!

KMKMKM is probably a good intro for someone to start on as it has most flavours of their music (deep & brooding to great pop)

I agree. I think the Greatest Hits is the best 3 albums.

Japanese Whispers wasn't a proper album though, it was three singles (Let's Go To Bed, The Walk, and The Lovecats) along with their B-Sides. Similarly Boys Don't Cry was the American version of Three Imaginary Boys, with a few tracks swapped about, so I left both of them out.

Voted just for Seventeen Seconds, as its the only Cure album I've listened to in recent times. Not sure of the others, without a relisten.

Seventeen Seconds is an amazing album - I loved playing it on my new Technics deck in the early 80's and beyond.

'Play For Today' and 'A Forest' are two of the greatest New Wave tracks ever. Both still sound brilliant.

Just listened to 'Wish' for the first time in a decade or more. It's superb, maybe the 6th or 7th best record they've made. They really should play at the stadium.

Faith, Pornography and Disintegration - having said that, I saw them at the Royal Albert Hall when they did Three Imaginary Boys, Seventeen Seconds and Faith in order + all the b-sides, it may well be my favourite gig of all time.
