Not a poll, but do you prefer the new instant shine type,or the brush on from blocks, spit and polish.(NB,this is a non football related thread.)

spit and bull with parade gloss

The full shiny-shiny routine follows:

You need:

Water
Tap
Cotton Wool
Duster
Oxblood Polish (Any make)
Parade Gloss

Take a large amount of oxblood polish onto the duster, rub in a circular motion until the leather feels rough. You will feel it go smooth, then rough, with your finger whilst you are polishing it.

Take a piece of cotton wool, make it into a ball. Put normal, cold, tap water into the lid of the Parade Gloss, dip the cotton wool into the water, and shine in small, gentle circles. A basic shine will develop. Do this until you have a reasonable shine (ie like the back of a CD)

Change from Oxblood to Black Parade Gloss at this point.

Take another cotton wool ball, damp it, then take a small piece of polish (ie push it gently onto the polish, don't scrape or rub polish onto it). Rub this into the boot. Run the tap so it is warm, and rub the polish in a circular motion again. This will take some time, and you will need to change the polish and cotton wool every five minutes. Do this about 10 times, and you can shave in them.

Instant shine is shite, kills the leather. Failing the above, you can paint shoes with Japlac radiator paint, which flexes, but will need scraping off and redoing every couple of weeks. Never use liquid floor shine, because it goes opaque in certain weather.

If you are really keen, the black paint they use on Harrier or Tornado nose cones is the best stuff going!

For the bulling up and glass effect:

Cover you finger with a lump of poilsh and spread evenly over the shoe and smooth off as it dries. hair driers can be used to speed this up!

Once it is completely dry and really smooth, take your duster and place a small amount of water into the upturned lid. With your finger in the duster, dab into the water and in a gentle circular motion, rub the show. You will see small circular patterns form as it polishes up, at this point spit and gently rub in the same fashion and repeat unti.......it will looks like glass and and ready for your military parade.

Cherry has too much petroleum and if it should rain, your shoes will go white.

KIWI is the best!!!

Shoe.... polish?

I chuck my shoes in the washing machine every few weeks, and then get rid of them if they start looking a bit ratty..
