[Help] Best paint protection/treatment for new car?

Waste of time if you park at supermarkets. Some kid will kick the door of Mummy’s 4x4 open and dent your car within a week

Being serious a PPF coating is probably the best idea. Whatever you do don’t let the dealer you buy from do it. They’ll almost certainly skimp on it. If you must have it done bite the bullet and get a car valeting company to do it. It will cost but it’ll be done properly and you have a comeback

A kid did this to my car in Waitrose a plump mother in her 4x4 refused to say anything to the little shit, no wonder kids have no respect for anything or anyone these days. My workhorse estate is battered to **** although that’s not really the point teach your kids some manners ffs.

I'm taking delivery of a new car in Dec and want to protect/treat the paint job before ruining it by, err, driving it around.

I'm totally ignorant about this topic, so would welcome some views/advice please.

5 year old, spot on. It's all plastic and aluminium, so no rust, no flakes of oxide or paint on the driveway!

Never worried about what my vehicles look like but I'd recommend Lanoguard if you've got an old vehicle being eaten away by the rust faeries.

Since the thread has been bounced, a quick update. I went to a highly regarded local detailer who machine polished the whole car and then put a PPF over it all. He had the car for 3 days. It looked amazing when it came out and still does 20 months and 26k miles later.

Use the two bucket car wash procedure and snow foam and do it regularly. Remove bugs on the front and bird shit as soon as you notice it and you will not need to spend a fortune on a ceramic coating. If you are a lazy bastard and seldom clean your car then go down the ceramic coating route

This very easy to apply car polish is bloody brilliant btw, water beads off for ages so it doesn't need applying that often. Really is just a 10 minute job to polish a clean car.
