Even the French sell them in supermarkets and regard them as English classics.

If I was allowed more nominations I’d have added Branston Pickle, English mustard, Cheddar and Stilton cheeses, and pork pies. When I lived in mainland Europe these were the things I missed when shopping in smaller local supermarkets. The other things I missed were fish & chips and English pubs/real ale, but fortunately they are on the list already.

Whilst the name Black pudding may be British, Latvia, Sweden, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbis, Slovenia, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg, France, Germany, Austria all have their own versions in Europe and when you add in various South American countries, Mexico, Australasia and the occasional Asian one, it's not specifically British.

Maybe go with a specific Stornoway or Clonakilty British Black Pudding

I have actually been to Clonakilty…..and ate so much black pudding I felt sick. I spent a week around the area and also in Cork. I don’t like Dublin much but I loved Cork. I understand it’s changed a lot in the past 20 years though.
