So many great, new, young bands out there at the moment. Here are my top three.
Playlounge
A great noisy duo from South London for fans of Husker Du, Buffalo Tom, and loud, thrashy pop songs.
Their new 8 track 12" 'Thrash Magic' is my record of the year.
The Spook School
Awesome Scottish indiepop with a dash of folk and a fantastically entertaining drummer.
Joanna Gruesome
More noisy pop genius with hints of Galaxie 500, Urusei Yatsura and MBV.
There's a Brighton link in that a couple of the band are at university in Brighton and have played a few times locally.
Check these bands out if you get the chance; they make me feel ridiculously old, but they're all bloody brilliant.
Who's been giving you hope for music in 2013?
