Who would you say have been the best Midfield partnership that have both been at the club at the same time?

From my time probably Chippy and Oatway. It's more of a trio at the moment with a defensive midfielder breaking play up.

Did Carpenter play with Sidwell? If he did that must be the best partnership by a mile!

Dennis Mortimer and Danny Wilson. Just miss out on promotion by the odd point if my memory serves me correctly and could have gone up on last day of the season if other results had gone our way..84/85 I think.

By the seaside in West Somerset
our best midfield played in the old first division but my fondest memories are of Dave Turner, Jimmy Collins and Wally Gould in the mid 60's

that wraparound error/repeat has happened again. Only happens since the new version of bulletin board and very odd

i'm pretty sure they played together when i saw forest away game in 2002 - this would be my choice (if it actually happened!!)

edit: glad my memory isn't totally frazzled - 2002/03 season they played whilst sidwell was with us. he was quality.

For me, Dicker, Navarro, Sparrow, Bridcutt and Kish are all better than Oatway and Chippy.

I don't think any of those players are close to Chippy in his prime, but I suppose you could argue that a better partnership could be formed from our squad now than Carpenter coupled with Oatway.

Gets my vote, too.
