Graeme Smith 154 to win the test at Edgbaston in 2008. Nobody else looked comfortable from either team on that wicket, he made it look easy.

Edit , Just thought, collingwoods century in the same game is worth a shout, but not in the same class as Smith's

Brendon McCullum before he was selected for New Zealand playing for Otago at Carisbrook. There was a breathtaking crowd of about 5-10. I took my couch cushions down and sat on the terrace and lapped it up in the sun with a mate while he plastered it all over the park. Been a huge McCullum fan ever since.

Nathan Astle and Steven Fleming opening partnership during orientation week at Carisbrook gets an honorable mention, but for the life of me I cant remember the opposition and after 20 minutes of searching online I give up.

Edit: Found it. 193 opening partnership in just over 30 overs vs a bowling line up of Waqar Younis, Wasim Akram and Shoiab Akhtar

This Nathan Astle knock vs England was good as well (sadly missed his double century)

Can't single out one - there have been several good ones. I remember Graham Gooch getting 190-odd against Sussex in a one-dayer where he seemed to score runs at will. I saw a fantastic knock by Viv Richards where he put the ball through the window of one of the flats at the back of the Gilligan Stand.
I've seen some great test centuries: one from Inzaman ul Haq at Lord's really stands out, he seemed to able to put the ball anywhere he wanted.
They don't have to be centuries though: the Gillette semi-final against Gloucestershire in 1968 saw a little cameo from Ted Dexter. He only scored 60-odd but it was a rain-affected pitch and nasty for batting. Sussex won a low scoring match with some ease but I still remember Dexter's shots.

I'm sure no-one will remember this but one lazy August afternoon a game at The Saffrons was stumbling towards a dead draw in the early 1980's.

Sussex needed about 300 in two sessions after a really defensive declaration by Andy Hill the Derbyshire captain.

In came Imran Khan and smashed 145 in about 24 overs and Sussex won the game.

Incredible knock.

A brief knock from Geoff Boycott at Hove, must have been around 1970. Sussex had batted leaving about 20 minutes for GB and his partner, I think it was Phil Sharpe, to see out the day.
Sharpe took the first over from Tony Buss who was bowling from the Cromwell Road end which was a maiden. Boycott then took strike against J A Snow and proceded to stop Snow twice during his run up to bowl the first ball of the over. Words were clearly had between them at this point.
Up came Snow again and bowled a leg cutter which Boycott left with a very theatrical shouldering of arms. This was repeated at least twice after which Boycott again stopped Snow again during his approach. The following ball was treated with the same disdain except that it was an in swinger that sent the middle stump cartwheeling out of the ground. As Boycott trooped off it looked to us that Phil Sharpe was p*****g himself laughing.
I also remember Snow doing something similer to Barry Richards whilst he was playing for Hampshire although there wasn't the personal animosity between the two players.

Murray Goodwins 335 against Leicestershire in 2003 which won us our first County Championship EVER. I loved it when he smashed Phil De Freitas to the boundary, and the clup did a lap of honour to Starships - Nothings gonna stop us in the middle of the over

Javed Miandad, 200* Glamorgan v Somerset at Taunton on the bank holiday that we all had for Charles & Di's wedding in 1981. Made most of the 200 whilst batting with the tail.

Meopham, Kent.
The best partnership I saw in the flesh was Tom Moody and Graeme Hick blast us around the County Ground for Worcester back in about 1987. They were absolutely brutal to us. Poor old Lester seemed to age quite badly in just that innings for the tap he was taking ... but he wasn't alone.

It might have been a great innings but it wasn't on the bank holiday that we had for Charles and Di's wedding. We played Surrey at Guildford on that day and Imran scored a ton (we lost though).

Javed left Sussex in 1979 so it would have to have been before then.

lucky enough to go first world cup in 1975 at Lords. Clive Llloyd scored a magnificant innings against a good aussie attack. Pre corporate hospitality so ground full of West Indian supporters - great atmosphere.
