Hi all
have had to reload my pc from scratch and fancy using other programmes than Windows Media Player for videos and music. any ideas of some good freeware that is available.

For music I still think Winamp is the business.

For videos Media Player Classic (mplayerc) or VLC player are the best options as they play ANYTHING

Thanks guys VLC up and running and is cool...next freebie question. I have loaded AVG which i must say has never let me down, how about a program for optimising? and lastly one similar to adaware unless thats as good as it gets, not tried too many options to be honest

WinAmp for music & videos
DivX for Videos aswell

and thats it for me

Thanx BJ. have had winamp in past for audio so will give it a whirl

VLC will play just about every video format there is :laugh:

yes but are the codecs quality? its very good it plays alot but the image has to be the best, not tried VLC for ages so cant compare to DivX but the latter does a very decent job for me and WinAmp is just fine for some too.

Yeah most videos i download play fine, the playback quality obviously depends on your computers spec.

No votes for Songbird ? - Free cross platform and classy music player

Have just tried out songbird and i must say its darned good, and will be my audio player. Vlc seems cool too so am sorted.
