Now that was a game! I remember you could get to the touchline and cross it straight into the goal, marvellous scenes :clap2:

I remember a footy game on the C64 (may have been microprose) that had the option of playing indoor 5 a-side, which was quality. Should have that option on one of the current crop of games I think.

It was indeed Microprose Soccer. I forgot that. The outdoor version had intermittent rain showers and lightning which caused the players to slide all over the place. The indoor game had US Teams. Both had an outrageous banana after touch shot.

As for the Double - I had to sneak goes on my sisters Spectrum as I could never get the C64 version to work. You could scout players and then watched a vidiprinter. It must have been around 86 as I seem to remember Bremner and Nelson playing elsewhere.

ISS on the N64, never bettered for playability. The current one is pretty good though as is Pro Evo ... anything but FIFA though, the most over-rated game ever.

Correct. Eagerly anticipated every update for it on every machine. Every time one came out I'd ask my geeky mate...'Is it better than the N64 one?'....always the same answer.

No.

Obviously I'm geeky too for caring.

Sensible world of soccer.
Championship manager.

The two greatest football games by far. Although big respect goes to Kick off.

And does anyone remember a management game on the amiga where you could put bets on your team and try and bribe the ref?

usm '98 was classic

i used that cheat where you offered a coach £99,999,999 a week contract and they then signed a contract for £-13,000,000, and you then got absolutely loads of money if you did this with all your coaches

i then, of course, blew it all on the stadium
