Got a mate who is going down for a night and wants fish & chips, where is the best place to get them?

It always used to be BARDSLEY'S in Baker Street.

Haven't been for years so I don't know if it still is though.

Unfortunately, based on my experience, the answer to this is bit like the Irishman's answer when asked for directions to Cork.
"if I was going to Cork I wouldn't start from here" he is suppossed to have said.

The best plaice for Fish and Chips is Cleethorpes.

I live a few minutes from Bankers and only use it if I'm feeling very lazy.

The Chip Basket near Hove Town Hall is my favourite in town. If in 'that' neck of the woods then I would agree that Bardsleys is very good also.

Melrose & Regency both solid options.

the chip basket is excellent, as is the regency. the melrose (despite apparently sharing a kitchen with the regency) never looks so appealing...

Sing Li, Brighton station, you'll not find better value for money anywhere, problem is it's just a takeaway!

Sing Li is arterial clogging shite, but after a pub session you just don't care and just find yourself wanting to lick the guy behind the counter and his rancid jar of pickled eggs as you wait for your order.

Tammy's off Dyke Road does the best chips in Brighton, anyone who hasn't tried them yet should get their sorry asses off there tonight.

Bardsleys is the best by far. Then The Chip Basket.
