Got in troble with the stewards at the Hull game for climbing on the fence after one of our goals...those were the days
and the charlton game miss the kick off..my car broke down..left it and hitched a lift from Firle to Lewes and got the train...Memories

Unbelievable game, the best match of the run to Wembley.

In those days Liverpool were considered virtually invincable at home in any cup competitions. Inlcuding European games.

There must have been at least 5000 of us up there, the atmosphere was amazing. The last twenty minutes of non stop Liverpool pressure were probobly the longest twenty minutes of my life. Everybody was on an amazing high that lasted for days after the final whistle. For the first and only time I really believed we could make it all the way to Wembley.

Incredibly the match was not televised and I have never seen the goals since. We are spoiled these days when you can watch every goal of every match.
