Best English City & Why?

So guys...weve done this quite a bit before....But whats your favorite city?

Obvious choice will be Brighton...I am from brighton & Love the city to bits and it will always be my home,wonderful to be beside the sea and near my team but brighton for me has lost its edge to live in. With property being very expensive and with all the london type's pushing it even higher...I cant see myself ever living there again.

My vote goes to Manchester - Best Uk shopping all close together, it offers a large selection of shopping and clubbing/drinking for all. Great sporting links/transport links and a real good vibe. It's also a city that isnt afraid of re-vamping itself and building a wonderful looking new & fasionable looking city centre,its got rid of its tired look and is a great place to have a coffee on a sunday morning....

i do LOVE newcastle.........it has its problem areas(not nearly as bad as people imagine though) and it has a bit of edge to it...the people are great.......you have great transport links to all the towns around....sea nearby....two premierleague football teams within a metro ride away

plus great nightlife.....great CHEAP nightlife

I'd agree about Liverpool...But manchester is by no means a hole...how do you come about that conclusion?

Manchester has an amazing nightlife....nice shops that are all close together...without the busy feel that london has. Cheap property to boot.

I've gone for Brighton because of the summer vibe around the city (not really seen this year yet). A close 2nd is Newcastle which is a cracking place.

Manchester I wouldnt wee on if it was in flames.

MMM. Spent last weekend there and thought it had gone downhill fast since my last visit 2 years ago. Full of chavs; dirty streets and the meals I had were Sh*** and overpriced.
