Hi,

I know it all depends on road works etc but what is the best route to take/avoid to Forest ?

I`m driving from Hampshire so will take the A34 to Oxford thats when all the options start for various other routes.

Cheers Bob.

Anything but the M1.

From Brighton I will be doing A23, M23, M25, M40, A46, M69, M1, A52.

When I lived in Nottingham I always used to do Dartford, M11, A14, A1 A52.

Both of these options are far better than the M1. For you, the first option is obviously the best.

Why not M40 M42 M1?

I only have to go from Brum but will be doing M6 M42 M1

This will be our our route from Alfold/Loxwood and the A281, A3, M25 tomorrow. It may be slightly longer but the M40 is a much more comfortable drive.

Because the A46 and M69 are a hell of a lot quieter than the M42 and it's shorter.

I go reguarly to Leciester and Nottingham - A24 (cos I am in Rustington)/M23/M25/M1 works for me.

Having said that, timing is everything and it is fair to say that 06:30 on the M25/M1 is not the same as 11:00-12:00 on a Saturday....

From Arundel area, through Petworth and up to A3, off at Guildford and head towards Bracknell on A332?, from that you pick up a route through to A40, then off at Silverstone Junction A43(?) and head towards M1, M1 to the land of Hooters!
