Oh yeah, and the Chinky one up from Brighton Station is good for a quick, cheap fix. Got a chicken and mushroom pie in there on Saturday night when getting back from Barnet. £1.10. Yum.

I know it isn't exactly Brighton but I had fish and chips from a place called Athina B in Portslade once, on my way to a home game at the Goldstone, all I can remember was getting a huge piece of fish and enough chips to have sunk the boat the shop was named after (prior to it having been washed up on Brighton beach). You will be pleased to hear that the quality matched the quantity and filled me up enough to survive the 90 minutes without further sustenance.

i like the idea of that chinese chippy up from the station, the one where the bloke works at 2,000 miles an hour and shouts at you "you want open/ wrapped ?" but the smell of rancid chip fat as you walk up the hill usually puts me off.....

Van der gully has a good shout for the Athina B in Portslade. I used to live up the road and can vouch for it.
Also, a bit of a bus ride from the centre of town, but The Captain's Table at Saltdean is good. All cooked fresh from a local chippy and none of this warmed up mass produced gunk.

Where is it?? Is it a restaraunt?? how long's it been around?

You can't miss it - it's bloody huge and opposite that big long building which goes out into the sea. It used to be just some old restaurant but became an 'arry's a few years back. Never been in myself.

Bardsleys. Huss in there is gorgeous, always fresh and not too much batter and good quality batter aswell. Chips always Good.

I've just been to the chippy on the front in Fishersgate (next to the Albion pub). Credit where it's due - best chips I've had in months!
