Best band of the 90's?

REM were probably my favourites in the 90s. Automatic for the People was by far their best album IMO.

Green and Document are classic albums (although 80s), not heard much of Murmur and whatever else came before. Automatic for the People is a bit too commercial for my tastes.

(imho) Blur are crud, a couple of okay singles, but they really aren't all that if you look at their entire catalogue.

Can't believe no one's mentioned The Backstreet Boys yet - no one who owns their greatest hits album could possibly disagree - the ultimate guilty pleasure.

What are Take Thats most famous songs? I only know of them because Robbie Williams was big here for a while.

I listened to 4 of their songs on youtube and only one I knew was a Beegee cover. Did they have any success outside of UK / Europe?

For me it was Pearl Jam.

Other bands I liked included Weezer, Oasis, Smashing Pumpkins, Offspring, Sublime, Live, Garbage.

Red Hot Chili Peppers too I guess, Californication was 99 and you cant really deny Spice Girls were big in the 90's.

Well? A really, really tough call. So many to choose from. But, after listening to Oasis - What's the Story, Morning Glory? & B*Witched - B*Witched today, my choice was made a lot easier. Debatable, but I don't think there's been a band as good as B*Witched since. punk:

C'est La Vie - Number One when it mattered.

Had the great good fortune to catch B*Witched at the peak of their powers, over the road at Party In The Park. In the days when it was free. Obviously. The Irish songstresses bounded on stage, ripped through a storming version of C'est La Vie and went to bound off again. The crowd went head-mental for an encore. So they sang it again.
