"Best away supporters seen at Ipswich"

One Ipswich fan at a service station last night told me that Albion supporters were easily the loudest Portman Road had seen all season. "You guys were terrific - easily outsang Leeds and all the others. Definitely the best away fans we've seen so far!" This is all excellent stuff, of course.

But should we spend time basking in yet more smug self-congratulation over last Saturday? Or hanging our heads in shame at the 'library' performance expected at Withdean next Saturday?

What's it to be - Jekyll... or Hyde?

Our support at the moment is totally paradoxical. Away from home we are often told how noisy and fantastic we are, but at Withdean if you so much as shout never mind stand up (heaven forbid!) you get about 50 people telling you to be quiet.

I :censored: ing HATE Withdean.

I have a mate who is a Cr***a* P***** fan who works with an Ipswich supporter and she goes home and away. After the last time we played them (and drew 2-2) she commented to my mate at work (who then told me) that we were the best supporters she had seen at Portman Road all season.

Pretty good seeing as that game was also near the end of the season.

Albion & England forever.

At the end of the day , I don't want to rain and your parade but what good did it do us. We lost. All these teams saying how great we were ( Ipswich, Sunderland ) but thinking to themselves, mugs , we got the 3 points off them.

If we get relegated can we all say , never mind lots of teams said we had great away support.

I don;t give us a shit if Ipswich said how wonderful we were, they got 3 points we got 0, who gives a damn about this brilliant away support as it doesn't seem to be making much difference to the side at all.

Maybe we should boycott the next away game and see if having no fans actually makes the team play better.

OK, so we're such a great bunch of fans... no but I mean really, aren't we just like THE BEST.

No, I mean if we're all being really serious about it, let's all get down and suck each other's dick, becuase NOBODY COMES CLOSE to how great we are.

Aren't we the GREATEST?

The team seem to take this brilliant away support for granted. I don;t think our away record would be any different if we averaged 2000 or 200 away fans. Our players don't seem to apprieciate the fans efforts or raise their game at all. I am fed up with all these , aren't we just great , threads after yet another defeat.

Sorry to be a party pooper but all of this 'best support' self-congratulatory nonsense makes us look like we're suffering from an inferiority complex and need all other fans say we're the best they've seen. Not to mention looking like a bunch of smug gits. Get a grip puh-lease! What I want is for the team to totally piss the home fans off by grabbing a few points and if they don't like that-tough shit.

It's time we developed some of Millwall's "We don't care" mentality...

These types of posts f***ing make my skin crawl...do you realise how gay they sound?

"Shock horror, away support gets behind their team"

To all worryingly, point-missing, American-educated thinkers out there...

The original post is NOT yet another one that says how wonderful Albion away fans are. Words like "smug" and "self-congratulation" should have given you a clue.

The point being made is that we don't support our team properly at home. And maybe we should.

Is that a bit clearer?

You cannot generate any atmosphere at home.

Rarely do we get behind the team from the off, only once at home this season against Leeds and guess what the result was

I am sick and tired of us being in every teams good books for being a good bunch of supporters. The only teams who say that are the ones who have beaten us. I want to get results like the 1-0 robbing of Swindon last season and for their fans to curse us for it.

All this Ipswich and Sunderland really loved us makes me sick. They beat us, we look like a bunch of idiots posting all these threads giving each other blow jobs for being such great away fans.

Consuming several large bottles of alcohol on the way to away games usually generates more silly songs.

GG (actually you might as well be Gary Glitter) have you ever spoken to the players about what they think of our efforts and how it lifts them, especially when we go a goal down. You are a complete tosser. Fuckin stay away if you can't be bothered to give 100% without the right result at the end of it. We played well yesterday and got done by the ref, you know that. We're better off without wankers like you who want to be APPRECIATED for singing along with a bunch of pissed teenagers.
