To be fair, it was the situation that made it sooooooo good, it wasnt a particularly special free kick.

It was a magnificent free kick!!!!! Totally wrong for a left footer, even when I see it now I still cant believe how he managed to get it in.

My favourite was Sergei Gotsmanov's V Hull City. A run from the half way line past players, not on a counter attack like most, rounded the keeper turned to the north stand celebrated and THEN put it in the net!!!!

Gary Nelson in the mud against (I think) Bristol City in the season we went back up to Div 2.

I think it was part of a hat trick, we won 3 - 2 and he hit it so hard the keeper didn't start to dive until it had hit the back of the net. It was in front of the West Stand and everytime I recall it he seems to be further away from the goal - tonight he is just outside the Brighton area.

Any won with more accurate memories of this one or have I just imagined it????

No. You didn't imagine it although it wasnt a hat-trick goal. He got two that game in the pissing rain. Big Doug Rougvie got the other. Happy days !!:flameboun

That's the goal I would choose. He was at least 35 yards out , and it went like a rocket into the South goal.
It was his first game for the Albion.

That was v Peterbrough in a 5-2 win (from memory). I missed this game though.

Best win at the Goldstone in my time was the second win against Liverpool.
