Berlin - Hotels

Looking to go for a long weekend away in Berlin in March or April with the lady friend, can anyone recommend a hotel?

Stayed at "Hotel Berlin, Berlin" in December, was very impressed. Booked it through BA, we spent ages trying to look it up before our stay, thinking it was called Hotel Berlin in Berlin, only when we got there did we see the mahoosive sign saying Hotel Berlin, Berlin.
Cracking breakfast (which was included) for a Euro hotel too, proper bacon and baked beans!

We stayed in the Motel One near Zoo Station. Was pretty good and reasonable value.

I lived in Berlin for about three months over the summer last year, so know quite a bit about the accommodation situation. I would recommend The Circus. They have both a hostel and a hotel which was due to open the month after I left. It is truly an amazing concept: very central, cheap, great bar, good food - and that was the hostel! They have penthouse apartments for rent in the top floor for two people, or you can get a normal 2 person room. I would also check out their hotel if you wanted something more fancy. Proof positive that the phrase better late than never is absolute tosh.

Although, what he says is true. I stayed in a corker of a hotel in Berlin and this was when England were playing there and it was still dirty cheap!
