I was Midland and yes that was my life too. When I 1st moved it was 65p a pint at The Pierson or The Exeter

The local beer (Mary Anne) was truly awful……….the imported Dutch and Belgian lager was just as cheap though luckily. Main haunts for us were the Bond, The Lamplighter, No 10s and if we were feeling a bit adult we went to Lidos. Weekend late nights usually in the Warehouse, Thackerays or Madisons followed by hungover football on Sunday morning

We knew warehouse as workhouse

The office was another haunt but lamplighter was (and still is) a great pub. I preferred Randall's but remember Grolsch everywhere too. Now it's mostly liberation ale or skinners from Cornwall.
