Does anyone know when the planning application will be heard?
Oh, thanks - I missed that - good - should hopefully mean a deal can be done and 1901s can move back there - freeing up more Uni parking - maybe for next season...?Was turned down
Yep, the more refusals he racks up on the site, the less attractive it will appear to any speculative approaches.Interesting to see what happens now. Dont know if it was number of units or they dont what anything there, Whatever it is value has now gone down so wait for Bloom to strike

Did it ever go to appeal?Yep, the more refusals he racks up on the site, the less attractive it will appear to any speculative approaches.
It would be a private student accommodation provider who’d buy the land outright from Bennett. I’ve seen a very similar situation, this will take a few years to get planning. The provider is likely bankrolling the costly and very detailed planning packages. The application they put in would have been bringing in £120,000 a week. Obviously that’s not profit but what the students would be paying in total a week. That’s over £6m a year incoming. Not sure we can afford to rival that sort of income to pay for some parking spaces. Mr Bennett will just put together another follow up application with less units and try again. There’s so much money to be made in student accommodation he’d be stupid not to.
Indeed my point was Mr Bennett is looking for a much bigger payday than the club will give him for parking. It would be a private student accommodation provider who’d buy the land outright from Bennett. I agreed with your excellent post.Indeed my point was Mr Bennett is looking for a much bigger payday than the club will give him for parking.
So the clubs hotel idea was booted into the bushes, but a similar development, literally yards away, is likely to go ahead.... bloody planners are a joke.Downing (property developers) have bought Bennett’s Field so the student accommodation will definitely be going ahead.
TB may have a few tricks up his sleeve yet if he still fancies the siteSo the clubs hotel idea was booted into the bushes, but a similar development, literally yards away, is likely to go ahead.... bloody planners are a joke.
Unlikely now Downing have bought it.TB may have a few tricks up his sleeve yet if he still fancies the site
Well you say that but if you take your blue and white tinted spectacles off for the second the club made a big song and dance during the planning process for the ground that there would be no further development on the site once the ground was built. They went back on that within a couple of years of being there. Whilst I agree with your point the club went back on their word 10 years ago first. So the clubs hotel idea was booted into the bushes, but a similar development, literally yards away, is likely to go ahead.... bloody planners are a joke.
Who knows? They may be prepared to, say, flip it for a suitable return, or come to some strategic partnership arrangement etc etcUnlikely now Downing have bought it.
Never under estimate Mr Bloom. I also would not be suprised if this isnt over.Unlikely now Downing have bought it.
