Wow - saw a guy giving the stewards a right ear bashing - finger wagging then threw the blue cones about - and drove through the no entry sign - any one know his problem and why he thought he could queue jump?

I think the frustrations of that car park have led to people using the entrance as an exit, also down at the bottom by the program sellers hut. The single file bottleneck queue is so slow it is hardly a surprise. I am sure that if they opened up the entrance as an exit at the end of games the time taken to get out would improve a bit, so long as everyone merged in turn where the 2 lines join. it would also negate the need for people to be arses, and get into shouting matches with stewards. The management of the car park egress is non existent, no one has thought it through, it's hardly a surprise that people get cheesed off.

The management of the car park consists of a man who passes a vague resemblance to jesus running around putting nice blue and white cars in car park spaces as cars exit to stop people cutting between cars. In my view this is a complete and utter waste of time. That is it.

We have a supply of blue and white cars just for that? No wonder we have to sell the £34 tickets first.

After 1 and a half seasons, I am convinced that if the club came up with a plan you could empty that car park in half of the time.

My ideas
- Divide the car park in half. With cars exiting from both the top and bottom.
- One steward managing the merging of the two queues at the top exit.(less road rage)
- One steward managing the traffic merging from other areas at the bottom exit
- Better traffic management on Village Way to get cars out of the site (keep the lights green for much longer!)

I assume this includes giving buses priorty still, which as an occastional user seems to be working really well at present - left at full time back home via racecourse P&R in just over 20 minutes. Does'nt look that bad to me as an onlooker, having someone manage the lights sounds a good idea.

The Uni car park is much much better. Ask to switch your pass.

We wandered across from WSU and sat in the East Stand brasserie bar and had a quiet pint of Harveys, watched the highlights on the screen and the non-moving brake lights of Bennett's Field for a good half-hour. Why do people pay through the nose for this 'privilige'?

Not sure what that solves as surely it means you are still sitting in a queue but somewhere else. The bottleneck is surely not caused at the exit from Bennets Field but form the exit onto Village Way.

I would suggest the only thing that would resolve the issue is allowing more vehicles out of Village way at a time at the lights as you suggest.

I thought this was going to be another thread about the selfish dick heads who charge up the left hand lane of the slip road over the A27 and cut in at the roundabout, causing mucho road rage from those of us who patiently queue up with 99% of the other drivers ( it annoys the pants of mrs Gaffer)

Lets hope you get some smug satisfaction one night when the Police take some sudden action to make this safer for all drivers.

meaning what exactly? You are in favour of people cutting in when everyone else is patiently waiting in line?

I know it might not sound like it would make a difference, but I think it would have small effect, as there would be fewer cars bundled up in the car park, all trying to muscle their way to get to the exit quicker and in the meantime pissing others off who queue.

Police were at the top of the slip road last night and did nothing to stop the cars going up the outside, they just sat and watched as 2 cars did it as we approached.

A lot of the hold up is caused by pick ups from Village Way. Also those lights need to be better managed. Coppers are not always on traffic light duty and the difference in time delay is noticeable when they are not.

Yeah absolutely with buses having priority. The biggest issues aren't the busses. It's the traffic lights being red for too long and the entire car park exiting via one route... IMO like..

The bottleneck definitely doesn't help matters though. Once you're out of the car park it's relatively smooth. But just getting out is a total nightmare. (Unless you leave it 1 hour after full-time before you leave)

 Is the right answer.

Especially when the Car Park Attendants "let" you turn left out of Car Park 1 and join the A27 directly, without faffing about with Coldean Lane. Not sure they're supposed to, but so many people just seemed to ignore their instructions that they ended up just shrugging and letting everybody go whichever way they wanted.

My wife and I meandered out of the East Stand on the final whistle. Stopped to get a cup of coffee for the journey home. Ambled across to the university car park, and drove almost uninterupted on to the A27, and were back in Bristol by 00:30.

I came across a child of God, he was working the Albion parking.
When I asked him what he was doing this he told me;
I'm sorting out Tone Bloom's arena, think I'll join him in a pint of Harveys in the director's lounge, leave when it's my round and try and get my pies free.

We are blue and white, we are Brighton
and we've got to score more goals
to make defences frightened.

(rough draft, could be a monster hit)
