I thought the stock answer was Palace would only pay 10p in the pound?

If he really is on fifty five grand a week then it's an awful signing, irrespective of his abilities IMHO. Confirmation that the money generated by Sky and their premier league have utterly destroyed football at the highest level. And to think back in May, I was standing at Wembley, ecstatic at having just been promoted.

Panic Buy No. 1. They can't afford that level of wages either. Hopefully Chamakh or Gayle will get the hump too.

Chamakh will be on a similar whack with Palace considering he signed for Arsenal on a free. They would both have to take a wage drop tho

Will he score enough goals to keep palace up? No.
Will he take a huge whack from their TV money? Yep

Sign him up.

Good player never would have dreamed a years ago that we would be looking to bring players of his class to the palace

Honestly, I'd rather have Ulloa.

Why will you have one hell of a squad when you are signing them on 1 year contracts. Gayle looks crap to me. Campana looks like a good buy (so far) but that's it. He will be off when you get relegated

I think you been on the sherbet not premiership class I'm afraid

1. Well he certainly looked Prem class when he scored against Arsenal with that diving header in the FA Cup.

2. And £6million Dwight Gayle is??

One hell of a squad?! You're joking, right? Surely?
Yeah, players like Dobbie and Garvan just ooze Premier League class don't they. Kevin Phillips is ancient and your second-string lost to Bristol City.
You're essentially building a whole new attacking unit with cast-offs from other clubs, whilst leaving the defence (minus Ward) as shite as they previously were.

Good luck paying average strikers £50k a week. Very few relegated teams have stormed the Championship, so the odds don't look great there.

Oh and one more thing: IF you go down? Seriously?

Great player up until 2005. From then, 11 goals in 42 apps for Brum, 8 in 28 for Sunderland and 0 in 9 for Juventus.
Will be a great buy if he picks up his form from 8 years ago.

Fair point but only the player on mega money are on 1 year contracts which makes perfect sense expect 4-5 more player over the line by Tuesday
Gayle could well turn out to be one of our best ever buys he fast , two footed and knows we're the goal is hollaway must see something in him to splash the cash , time will tell

Ulloa - 91 goals in 253 games
Bendtner - 41 goals in 178 games

Well 1 player certainly has a better goalscoring record......

Not to mention, 1 player isnt on 55k a week !!

Rather then worry about how much we are spending on players, maybe you should be more concerned about how much you are NOT spending on players.
JAT.
