And God said, "Let there be a dome in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters."
So God made the dome and separated the waters that were under the dome from the waters that were above the dome. And it was so.
God called the dome Sky. And there was evening and there was morning, the second day.

That bloody Dome, they'll blame anything on it!!!

Before Sky
Coventry were able to play their game against Everton on a Sunday after their relegation rivals had already played.

Before Sky
The Brazilians and French that were any good and playing in England amounted to Mirhandinha and an over the hill Didier Six.

Before Sky
The BBC & ITV operated a duopoly - the net result of which was that football wasn't paid it's true worth. Meaning that clubs like Ipswich and Wolves nearly went to the wall when they tried far out ideas such as building a new stand worthy of the name.

Before Sky
Man Utd used to top the attendances - averaging just 39,000 in one year.

Before Sky
Liverpool one the league nearly every year for 2 decades.

Before Sky
The league was a closed shop to non-league clubs.

we could watch a game in the pub on a saturday afternoon

people could afford season tickets

though not sure i agree with your last point

Why?? the national side has suffered as a result of Sky's money coming in & teams buying no mark foreigners rather than taking a punt on someone and spreading the money thoughout the lower leagues.

I don't think that Sky was the reason for introducing relegation from the league, although I do think it is a good thing, it has certainly made the Conference more interesting.

There was f*** All on the telly.

I have to agree. I never watch ITV anymore, and BBC only for things like Trawlermen and Natural World.
