Is there something in this, or just one of those things.

My hayfever this year has, so far, been minimal, to the point of non-existant.
But other circumstances have also resulted in minimal beer, this summer, certainly a lot less than ever before.

Now I've just settled down and enjoyed a pint of Speckled Hen.
That is until pretty much the last mouth full as that has coincided with a large hayfever reaction. I can bearly see the keyboard (good spelling excuse).

Has, by chance, one set off the other?

I've noticed the same thing with caffeine, that makes my hayfever worse, but without it i'd be asleep.

I tend to find that drinking water helps to keep it more at bay. I take tablets but when I'm doing sport or something (like today), I find that it effects me much more

I think it's MUCH more likely that you're allergic to something like DIY or gardening. I know I am. At the first mention of something like 'paintbrush' I come over all faint and have to sit down with some beer and watch the cricket.

Mine has not been as bad this year and I have drastically reduced my alcohol consumption (I used to swill down a bottle of red wine every night and a few pints on a tuesday, now I just have a few beers on a Tuesday and nothing else). SWMBO has left a dreaded "please mow the lawn note" for me, so we'll see how it is after that.

Sadly this is true for some people and infact my quack advised me to lay off the beer during hayfever season - drinking cider seems much better :drink::drink:

the hayfever season has been since early June for me but since the weekend i have been unable to breathe through my nose. Pollen is worse in the evening when most of us are more likely to drink. I think that explains it.

It's true, for some people, myself included, beer can impact on the sinuses. My advice: drink your way through it.

Spent 2 hours mowing the lawn and barely a sniffle, maybe there is something in it....
