He says in Bild column.

:moo:

Perhaps he could suggest moving it to a football loving country...dare I suggest England. Given the size of Russia, could it technically be argued that Asia have received the next two world cups. Stab in the dark like.

I believe he voted for Qatar didn't he, or at least verbally backed them. Can't go moving the goalposts now.

Another article in today's Bild says that Sepp Blatter received money and use of a private jet from the Sheik of Qatar.

I do hope that didn't influence his choice in any way...?

The Qatar athletics team has 3 kenyans that have been living in Qatar for three years, hence allowing them to represent them in the middle East games.

Got me thinking! How many Brazilian born players will they have in 2022?

Answer... a squad of 22

He still seems happy with the decision, thinks the Middle East deserves a chance.

What I don't get is how you can alter the 2021/22 football season - surely it means altering other seasons as well? To fit it in, you'd have to start a month early and end a month later (at least), that's surely going to impact on the preceding or following season.

Its just a suggestion. No more silly than holding a world cup in a country with no stadia, no alcohol and in a season where weather is so hot walking in the sun for 5 minutes makes you over heat.

Just read a bit further. He says that he won't reveal his personal choice but he does say he was surprised that Australia and England fell in their first rounds.

I think ONE is past the Urals (forget the name of it). Bottom line is Russia is a European country, and has been for a lot longer than most these days.
