I've recently found these money saving tips, might be of use to some.

1: To find a free or local number for most companies rather than calling a premium rate line, search on: www.saynoto0870.com

2: Some networks charge for the usually free '0800' numbers. The workaround for this is to dial: 01241 220800. Follow the prompts and then enter the 0800/free number.

Hope this helps.

I've been using saynoto0870 for ages and I can vouch for its excellence. It also has apps for iphone and android to make it easier.

The second one, I didn't know. Top tip that :clap2:

0800 Wizard is a free app on the iPhone (other handsets are available) that keeps 0800 numbers free from mobiles. Works like a charm.

Ofcom made proposals last year that 0800 calls would be free from all telecoms providers to stop the mobile operators charging up to 40p a minute. An announcement on when this is mandatory is due out some time in 2013.
