I have voted yes, but only as part of a toasted sandwich.

Wardy is correct. A beans place in a sandwich is only correct if toasted and thus hot enough to burn your mouth.

granted they are essential in toasted sarnies, but they fit lovely with sausage bacon egg and shrooms in a proper brekkie sarnie (baguette preferable)

I wouldn't do it for something like a packed lunch, but if I'm eating dinner which consists of beans and something else, for example chicken kiev or nuggets then I'll lump some beans and kiev and possibly some chips in. It's bloody nice.
