That would be a really feeble gesture. Fans would still go, and many would get hurt, and Sky would still pay huge money (and rake in huge money) beaming it back to England.

And therefore about 100 times more likely than a boycott.
Several hundred. At least.
It is exactly the kind of thinking they are likely to take though - "If we don't facilitate the sale of tickets, and we tell people not to go, then we can not be held in any way responsible, if they come to harm".
Don't understand your link to Sky, though. When did you last watch a WC match on Sky?

Don't watch anything on Sky ports (I don't subscribe). Sort of assumed it would be Sky coverage (and on Sky if I wanted to watch it there) that was bought by the mainstream channels because it was one of those protected events (like home test matches used to be). Is that not the case?
No. Sky have zero rights (in the UK anyway) to the World Cup. Or the Euros, for that matter.

That would put any fans going at even more risk,a big factor would be one of the critically ill fans losing his life or further serious trouble from the Russians,almost want the russians to progress so they disgrace themselves with the germans/poles. Football might take notice if England fans are not involved.Not sure how the french have got off scot free,far more active in the hooligan activities than our boys so far. Having said all that if the tournament stopped today i would be quite happy. Football is not worth anybodys life. Thoughts with those still in hospital.
I would be suprised if that was the case. Fans will always travel. That said you would need to pay me a lot of money to go. I went for the euro 2008 qualifier in Moscow. We got set on who whilst drinking outside a bar (not singing ) and couldn't leave the hotel apart from to go to game.
I'm not disagreeing at all. It would put fans at risk - but at their own PERSONAL risk. The only risks that the FA's risk assessment will look at are 1. The FA being legally culpable 2. the FA losing moey 3. The FA's reutation being damaged (further).

I think you're spot on with this. If there's a fence anywhere to sit on, you can be damn sure our FA will find it.
And 'cojones' is a foreign word to them as well

Agree you would be crazy to go independently but i'm sure the Russians could find somebody else to attack if we didn't go. On a moral front i think the authorities here and Europe need to grow some(not holding my breath) Can't stand the thought of more violence tbh.

Yep. Putting politics aside and their horrendous human rights and stance on homosexuality and just about everything, I know we shouldn't but I do subscribe to politics and football should be kept apart, if anything it unifies groups. It cant be denied that Russia has a football heritage and they have never hosted it.
Unlike Qatar that really ****ing stinks.

I can foresee World Cup matches being played out in enormous stadiums, all filled with Russian schoolkids and soldiers, dressed in England / Israel / Cameroon / South Korea shirts, to desperately save Putin et al from losing face.
