The team were or blame in China and if he hadn't lost gears for a minute or so in the Brazil race he would have comfortably finished high enough to win. Now I happen to think Lewis Hamilton is great - breathing life into a sport that had become montonous at best, turgid at worst. However he finished second in a marvellous debut season. Joe Calzaghe has been a world champ for10 years. He, nor the brilliant Ricky Hatton, never gets the recognitionhe deserves because of the pay TV schedules. Lewis is 1/3 on bet 365, Ricky is 4/1 and Joe 9/1.
The big problem we have is that it's called sports PERSONALITY of th year which means every joker and glorious loser has a chance to, for once, be a winner. Perhaps a cultural change whereby we recognise only winners is called for...
