The longest nine inning game ever played at Wrigley Field was amazing.
The roller coaster game that had everything.
The highlight reel could be an hour long.
Check it out for a terrible (imo) balk decision with consequences and of course a dramatic climax.
Tomorrow we go for a four game sweep play off clincher

If the Cardinals had wanted to design the most crushing demoralizing end of season for the Cubs, I am not sure they could have done better than this weekend.
Cubs end their season at home by being four game swept by the Redbirds for the first time in 98 years, and ruining their post season hopes in to the bargain.
Each game was one by one run.
And the last two by the good guys taking the lead in the last inning.
If the boot was on the other foot I would be devastated by that.

Just as well we won all four too because the Brewers are on fire.

Love baseball

Big week for the Nats

5 games against the Phillies who are pretty much out of Wild Card contention, then 3 against the Indians who very much do have something to play for.

3 wins should be enough to secure a wild card place but going to need more than that to get home advantage I think.

Screw you, Barry! That sucked!

:censored:

As I said, I would have felt the same way had the weekend gone the other way.

Still, it's only the Cubbies. And that was quite a dynasty they had there stretching right back to 2016.

Most fans are now wondering if it will be 2124 before the Cubs win another World Series.

Twins just 2 wins away from securing their first ALC since 2010. They've been magnificent this season, lost count of the records they've smashed.

307 home runs, breaking, no SMASHING the previous MLB record of 269. Magnificent.

But the Twins seem to have a mental block over playing the evil Yankee overlords. It all kicks off on Friday, and nobody in the free world outside of NYC wants anything other than a Twins win. I don't include the brainwashed goons who walk around the planet in Yankee baseball caps for "fashion".

Do it boys. Find a way.

Houston Astros are the team to hurl your mortgage on.

Most of my team are Houston people and they think after the disappointment last season, ( which I was out there against the Red Sox for most of the games watching from Denver ) they have strengthened the team and come into the playoffs as the one to beat.

Rays advance to the ALDS with the lowest budget in the MLB and face the Astros who we beat 3-1 in the first match-up of the season and lost 2-1 to in the second half. Morton and Snell are key on the pitching and Diaz and Pham in the batting. There are going to be runs!

Cardinals Braves tied at 1-1 Going back to St Louis

Dodgers Nats also level.

Can't stand Houston, but sadly it seems certain to be them or the Yanks for the AL crown
