It's a certainty Ings will be on his way and Barnes is unquestionably in the frame to replace him at Burnley. Given his treatment by Alion fans and their oosition in the promotion race it would be a surprise if he stayed with us and sadly we wont get a fraction of what he is worth.

If he does go then for certain we need a quality replacement - Leo and CMS (when he is back) is not enough.

Barnes is an old fashioned CF who gives 110% for his club, he has done well holding the front line for us during the injury hit first half of the season. Anybody who thinks otherwise aint to clued up on the game of football.

If any opposition team had a player like Barnes, at his age, we'd be drooling all over him. He went backwards under Poyet as he was never played him far enough up front.
I don't believe a word of this. Whilst it's true he is certainly a marmite player, he does apparently really like this club. He is certainly not going to leave simply because a handful of mongs give him unwarranted dogs abuse. And incidentally, is it really a certainty that Ings is on his way?

I very much doubt Barnes would leave just from the comments of a mindless few on a message board, I never hear anything out of order of note on a match day for him, he might not be everyones favorite player but were all behind him when he plays in the games.

Erm...it was Gus who signed him, so unless you saw him play at any of his previous clubs how do you know he 'went backwards'?

Erm, because he originally successfully played up front for Poyet as a regularly scoring centre forward, only to be moved further back as a defensive type striker where he was less effective from a goalscoring perspective.
Wow; I have; in pretty much every home and away match I've been to since we signed him.

Barnes is not, and never has been, an 'old-fashioned centre forward'. Nat Lofthouse, Jackie Milburn, Tommy Lawton or Tommy Taylor would turn in their graves.
