bargain! cheap videos at asda

Pacific (never heard of them either!) vcr at under £45, othe models are available.

1 scart socket (with lead), and usual aerial in/out,
with remote. works well, so far!

what bugs me tho....

- cash converters have 2nd/3rd hand ones for £100 or more....
(not this make/model!)

- dvd players are cheaper than vcrs!!

Tescos have also got VCR's at under £50 now.

Most people are getting DVD players so nobody wants to buy a new VCR any more.

Best thing about Asda is the free 3 yr warranty on all electrical goods.

bought a TV from them 2 yrs ago it went wrong, now have a brand new TV no questions asked.

get the feeling though that this one may only last 2 yrs as well

Still got plenty of stuff on Video that won't ever likely be released on DVD. Not to mention taping stuff off the box.

It's the same as ' Vinyl vs. CD '.

Really you need both to get the best of both worlds, even DVD recorders aren't so great if you can't re-record over the top of old DVD's.

Plus Video is cheaper to rent from Blockbuster than DVD.

VCR's are always going to be more expensive than DVD players because, if you take the case off, there is more mechanical & electrical components required to build one.
