Leeds United 115
Portsmouth 110
Cardiff City 109
Stoke City 108
Manchester United 106

Not surprised to see Leeds and Cardiff up there. Good effort byt Stoke, considering their following is somewhat smaller.

It really wouldn't bother me if they were all banned from attending football matches for life. :flameboun

10 current, 1 issued in that reporting period according to the PDF.

Which also puts Cardiff and Pompey ahead of Leeds, so I'm not sure how believable the BBC site is

ARRESTS at Brighton and Hove Albion games fell dramatically last year, according to annual Home Office figures. Only 13 Seagulls fans were apprehended by police, compared to 32 the year before. Twelve of the arrests took place at away games while one happened at the Withdean stadium.

Five of the arrests were for public order offences and five for alcohol-related offences. One fan was detained for violent disorder, one for throwing a missile and one for possessing an offensive weapon. The figures appear to show the results of a highly successful clampdown by police and the club.

They also suggest Brighton and Hove fans were the third best behaved of any club in the Championship in the 2005/6 season. Only Crewe Alexandra, with seven arrests, and Watford, with two, came out better. The dubious accolade of recording the highest number of arrests lay with Sheffield United with 64.

Nationally, ministers hailed a seven per cent fall in arrests from 3,736 in 2004/05 to 3,462 in 2005/06. Vernon Coaker of the Home Office said: "I am very encouraged by the new figures. However, we are not complacent. Football disorder remains a lingering menace and will not be tolerated."

Albion saw several tough court orders used last year to ban hooligans from matches. Ten Seagulls fans were banned in the last 12 months. In total there are 16 hooligans currently excluded from watching football games. The banning orders are a civil measure designed to make it easier to stop hooligans attending games without proving criminal behaviour "beyond reasonable doubt".

Behaviour likely to result in a ban includes fighting, stirring up racial hatred, using threatening or abusive words and even "displaying abusive or insulting writing". Offenders banned from international matches are also outlawed from any League ground in England. The orders normally last for two to five years.

a lot of cardiff and Stoke bans were for the skirmishes they had against each other for a few seasons a couple of years back.... from what I am told.
