In the back of my mind I seem to remember that some years ago we used to have a full fixture list on August Bank Holiday Monday am I right or is my memory letting me down.

I also remember games being played on August bank holiday as well. But we had to always play on a Tuesday night if we were at home.

I'm sure we beat Leicester circa 2006 live on Sky on bank holiday Monday. I had the same conversation with homer last night. Neither could recall when these fixtures stopped.

Would have thought that the game against Cardiff could have been played but we had a good crowd anyway but I am fairly sure it was full fixture list which would help a lot of clubs.

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't there some old law which states Brighton cannot play at home on any bank holiday?

Think you can blame Leeds for that one when they tore Bournemouth to shreds over a bank holiday. It was agreed that no seaside towns would have home fixtures on a bank holiday monday thereafter. Don't think it's law though.

Didn't Leeds smash up Brighton on a bank holiday, during 'Sargent Wilko's' tenure?

We played Plymouth at home on August bank holiday as recently as 2005-06.

60 year old Taribo West got dumped on his arse by 14 year old Jake Robinson, who slotted home to open his account on what would turn out to be another prolific season for the south coast Rooney.

They now schedule the second round of the League Cup for the Tuesday and Wednesday after the Bank Holiday weekend.

I thought the Easter and August bank holiday games for clubs in seaside resorts weren't allowed due to police forces objecting there could be serious disorder , so now they're automatically removed from the computerised fixture list scheduling.

Wasn't it an evening kick-off ?
