1. The Chameleons, one of Manchester's finest, with a huge local following, but it all fell apart following the death of their manager and ego's

Best songs: Second Skin, Splitting in two, Mad Jack

2: The House of Love: Too much SNIFF by Guy Chadwick, and it all went tits up, should have been sensational:

Best songs: Beatles and the Stones, House of Love, Christine

3: B-Movie: Mansfields greatest ever export, just not at the right place at the right time

Best songs: Remembrance Day, Nowhere Girl, Marilyn Dreams

4: North Stand Binfest: Broke up after Tottenham 2004, but reformed three years later to sing a chorus of terrace hymns.

Best songs: Which one is Peter Ward, Which town is West Ham in?, I'm a better fan than you, Are we playing in Yellow today?

The Porcupine Tree.

Still going strong, but their record-co-outlaws approach, aligned with the fact that there are no radio stations ever likely to address music like theirs, means people will never hear them.

Although for the curious, there's always 'pandora.com'

The Damned are still making brilliant records too.

'Grave Disorder' was outstanding, and they played some excellent new material the other night at Concorde 2.

Captain Sensible is STILL the only person to sing "C'unt" on Top of the Pops when Happy Talk was number 1 and he changed the lyrics.

FACT

:lolol:
Still, it's that stuff that confirms why The Damned were barely given the time of day by record companies, not even by radio (except John Peel) and were regarded with fear by interviewers.
