Cant be arsed to look through 11 pages so this has probably been posted. The clash - White riot

Also,
Suede - The drowners
Libertines - What a waster
The Specials - Gangsters

The Clash White Riot??
Go and read the OP and have another go, White Riot is good but I wouldn't say it was the best thing they ever did.

I'm an Upstart by The Angelic Upstarts. Despite the siren calls of Teenage Warning, Brighton Bomb and Who Killed Liddle Towers (the answer, for you KIDS out there, was THE POLICE) I believe this was (Sir) Thomas Mensforth's greatest three minutes.

Seek out an identity
You alienate society
Face the facts, why not admit it
How can you be outrageous when your mother won't allow it?

I'm an upstart
Hey!!
whatcha gonna do?
I'm an upstart
Listen!!
I'm talking to you!

I'm feeling quite emotional now.

(White Man) In The Hammersmith Palais. ???

Not sure if this thread is just about singles though, see post #121
Don't drag me into this.

I didn't mean this to be in anyway ambiguous, or for that matter El Presidente's dream thread.

A simple thought crossed my mind listening to West End Girls.
'I loved that single and have been disappointed by everything else, since'.
'I wonder how many other bands did their best work first?'.

I have no idea how that turned into pedants warfare.

This brings up the question about debut albums. There is a rawness and realness about debut albums that I find exhilarating. Often not musically a bands best work but there is something about the exuberance and innocence that I find fascinating.

What do you mean don't drag me in to this? You started this thread, a simple explanation would be good to what the thread
The first single is better than any other single, OR the first single is better than anything else the band has done?
