Ball Boys

Game after game at the Amex, we see the ball go out of play and roll into the North East corner, and then watch as the ball boy sat in the North West corner runs the entire width of the pitch, past at least one other ball boy who never moves from his stool behind the goal, to collect the ball and give it to the keeper. In fact it seems like he is the only ball boy that ever bothers moving to collect the ball, and I'm starting to hear sarcastic comments about it around where I sit, so I'm pretty sure I'm not imagining this. Is there a policy or some sort of reason that explains the seeming lack of activity from the other ball boys (and girls)?

Is it something to do with not sitting in front of the pitch side advertising screens?

Yes, exactly that, they are not allowed to climb over the electronic boards.
