I certainly am.
Turncoat. Who in their chosen profession of football would not know who BHAFC's rivals are? Lord knows he heard it sung every game in the Withdean South Stand ???
Not a great personality. Didn't make ANY inroads with fans, barely even acknowledged us. 'Difficult' according to the manager. Separated himself from team-mates and madwwe little effort to endear anyone to him.
Scored what...2 more goals than Barnesy in his best season, but coaxed by Gus's insistence if he wanted to get what he wanted from his contract. Basically his response afterwards was to stick it to Gus and the club once he had achieved his job goal.
Not exactly a resounding success in this league. Not at all - warmed the bench for palace several times, and was supposedly 'not getting the right service'. Say what? Better quality defences in the Championship, and he's not that impressive.
Getting on a bit. Does he have years of goalscoring left in him? At this level let alone the one we aspire to?
He is on higher wages - that's how palace got his services. Why is he worth allocating money to when we have young players looking to make the grade, other choices out there, and could probably pick up any form striker from L1 by offering his paypacket.

Is he suddenly the lovable prodigal son you "would take back in a heartbeat"? Why?

Is his goose as cooked for you as it is for me? I probably missed a factor or two so perhaps you can add to the weight in the 'not in a million years' column.

Suffice to say I simply don't get it.
Never go back?....never for that guy anyway.
He'd be taking up hallowed airspace at The Amex, and he's really not worthy of the shirt, in my opinion.

Agree with almost all of that. It's very true that many albion fans have rose tinted spectacles when it comes to Murray. Only put in a shift for the five months after Christmas in 2011.

However, IF you could motivate him to play like that every week he is the kind of player we need. He can lead the line (when he's onside at least), hold up the ball and he's good in the air. It's a bloody big if though as Palace are finding out.

We've arguably the best best choice of wingers in the Championship and easiest the best playmaker in Vicente. Murray is very good in the air and holds a brilliant touch for link up play. I couldn't give a toss about these petty little Palace issues we have and I don't think Murray cares either. I'd have him back in a flash. He will fit the bill. We will be successful with him back.

I can't get my head around it either:annoyed:
I think we have to many fans on here who think of our last season at withdean in league 1,we even have fans saying murray would score 14 goals etc, this hold up player rubbish is not required as we have plenty who do that.

Like i said if murray left palace he will end up in league 1 end of,the man has had one good season for how long?that was to get a decent contract in which he got elsewhere thankfully.Gus saw sense thank god as his passion was questioned many times to be fair and he never engaged with fans.

Just a mis-fit now who's career is coming to an end

Well that's two of us then.

Simple really, we don't have anyone who offers what he does. If you can't remember the quality he showed in our Championship season and realise that we haven't replaced him you must be blind

It seems we can't afford a young GM and nobody on the books is looking remotely like being able to do the job he does.

Just to dismiss him because he was in League 1 with us and hasn't shone much in a Palace team that don't play to his strengths is much like just dismissing CMS as not being good enough because you could say EXACTLY the same things about him.

After the signing of Crofts, it really wouldn't surprise me if Murray comes back. All it takes is a player like Murray to solve our problems and i don't know any other player as perfect as him for what we need. I reckon it would be a worthy bet which could earn you a good few bucks.

That was league 1 pal,if murray came back it would be a wasted space. He's lazy and past it now and his career is as good as finished.

The man is not a championship player.I don't care about his one good season out of three as most of us with our eyes open know what a lazy non interested sick note he was for two years+.

Murray as a top end championship striker is so laughable my sides are splitting, look around the championship and you will see many many superior hold up type strikers.

I can't think of any superior hold-up players in the Championship!?

Would be very happy to have him back as 3rd / 4th choice striker after 'New Main Man', CMS and possibly Barnes. But not as the new 1st pick.

53 goals in 101 starts.

His goals/games to ratio was constant throughout his time here.

I don't know if he is good enough to lead our line in the Championship, but the rewriting of history and inability to distinguish facts from prejudiced opinion is disappointing. No one knows what happened in the contract talks, apart from Palace gave him a much better offer. If that is because Gus doesn't rate him they why all the fuss anyway?

Vicente and cms hold the ball up well as will hoskins,it's easy to say this when Murray was up against many crap league 1 defences.

Murray was still up against a lot of physical defending regardless of the level, the man coped well. Hoskins and CMS fail in this department.
