Having recently travelled by train to a few away matches and drinking with Fatboy. Over indulging myself. Coming home a little bit the worse for wear. Having a little discussion with gentleman on the train. My wife thinks it would be better to go back to driving. So i don't come home pissed, get home earlier and don't get into arguments. What do you think ? Is it better to go by train and get rat arsed or go by car and be nice to the missus ?

Trains are much better as you can have a few beers and get to the games without the hassle of the roads and finding somewhere to park :drink: :drink:

Get rat arsed like I always seem to and go by train.

I just blame Fatboy when I get in, no problem with that (so far). :lolol:

Get rat-arsed AND drive.
You get all the enjoyment of getting pissed but still adhere to your missus' wishes.
Everyone's a winner!

I think I've only used public transport maybe 10 times in the last 20 years & that has always been when on holiday trips.

Can't be arsed with it.

Car/Taxi every time for me.

Since the next away game is Millwall, can I suggest you drive. I know some choice places to park in SE16. But be sure to plaster the car with Albion stickers to make it easier to find after the match.

And - if you can't find it, you'll at least be able to describe it to the police. Not that they'll ever recover it, of course.

For the rest of the season - no problem. You'll have to go by train. Insurance claims can take MONTHS to resolve.

Thanks Lord B, will I have a welcoming party waiting by the car when I get back to it ? Think the train sounds better.

You won't have to put up with me for a while Dodge!

You on our trips is a great source of amusement and we are yet to complete the training regime for the chav.

I am going to be working in SE16 on Thursday and Friday of next week, and my van has a couple of Albion stickers on it . Should I brazen it out and leave them on,or "bottle it" and remove them for those two days?

Console yourself with the fact that Millwall hate the likes of Palace far more than ourselves, in fact I have just hatched a cunning plan, get some Palace stickers and plaster them on cars near where you park your van, you should return to find it in the condition you left it...

Been there, done that (for the Port Vale game at home).

I still get regular reminders whenever I mention that I'm thinking of going to a game by train.

I went by Tube for 6 years backwards and forwards to Knightsbridge. I gave up and drove eventually. £4 per hour and a congestion charge and I'd still rather pay it than sit next to some stinking wino or, worse during summer, have to stand with my nose in someones armpit.

The clue is in the phrase 'public' transport. Most of the public I encounter have no manners, style or soap.

yeah, must have been real tough to be sitting next to someone, sober, wearing a suit thats worth more than their entire months salary, clean shaven, fresh from the shower and listening to his walkman.
