yeah I find that out now! would be crap if he wanted to just go to one game, £10 sign in plus matchday ticket and all that, thankfully we/he/me wants to go to a few games!

Yes agreed its a real pain in the ar-e as i normaly take a few mates and a few times they have gone in the home ends like QPR on boxing day and wycombe and brentford.

If you could get more than one ticket per member the whole think would be pointless.

One each isn't a major problem, but the problems start when over zealous stewards insist everyone sits in their allocated seat... :shootself

That only happened at Leicester last season. Most of the other grounds were ok about where we sat.

The main reason for having an Away fans database is to show the FA we are doing something to combat hooliganism, racism etc (and before I get shouted at - I know we don't have those problems)

As Yorkie says, it was brought in to lessen the chance of trouble at away matches, the idea being that there is a record of those buying tickets. However, it doesn't, of course, prevent people obtaining tickets and selling them on. Those were the days when we could pay on the day at the turnstile but I guess that is a thing of the past in many cases.

I have always been against the AMS scheme as it means people have to commit themselves in advance of going and, as has been said, those who can only make the odd match have to join if they want to attend an all-ticket match . It's not a great amount and it is a one off payment but it does make life more difficult for some.

I think the club had to bee seen to be doing something to try to prevent trouble at matches ( there had been some unpleasant incidents, particularly at matches in the London area, which seem to attract more trouble makers than others).

No, I don't like the scheme but the club could not afford to jeopardise Falmer so I guess we're stuck with it!

Crowd trouble would never affect falmer end of story!:nono: :nono: :nono: [/QUOTE

Don't you believe it, any ammunition the Nimbys can use then you can bet they will. Although crowd trouble is not a feature normally associated with this club it's stil;l a factor as the verage Orient or Palarse fan will testify.

Case in point of the practical uselessness of it all: the day before the P*l*ce game I went into the club shop to get a ticket for freind of mine. Having spent the last 48 hours memorising everything to do with his life - his date of birth, his house number, his phone number - both mobile and landline, his address and when he signed up for the AMS, I was equiped to pass myself off as a whole new AMS member, having long since secured my ticket

There I was, Mr Carpenter for the day: "One ticket for P*l*ce please" It all went fine until the whole charade fell to pieces arounds me when they asked the expected security questions and it turned out that "my" address had changed since signing up for the AMS. And I had no clue at all as to what it now was.

Not that it mattered they then told me - anyone can buy tickets, so long as they are meant for an AMS member. So, just what would stop someone going in with a list of five AMS names and walking away with a handfull of tickets?

Either do it properly or not at all.

....and a fanatical devotion to the pope.

But what I want to know is why make Plymouth all ticket in the first place? With the best will in the world, we will not take more than 2,000 so far away and so early in the season. New ground, loads of seats, if well stewarded, why worry? Last time we went (promotion - remember?) it was supposed to be all ticket, but those nice people at Plymouth let us pay on the gate :D

I cant believe people still moan about the AMS! If my mates want to watch the game I tell them they have to sign up ONCE IN THEIR LIFETIME FOR £10. THATS IT.
Or failing that, I just get the tickets on other mates AMS. There are even those that look 27 who sign up as junios to get a discount. The schme isnt fool proof though to some it does seem that way. There are ways round it. If it stops 15% of twats going to the game then Im all for it.

It's not the Albion who have made Plymouth all ticket. It's a Plymouth decision.

Most "all-ticket" games last season turned out to be pay-on-the-gate-if-you-want. I think the only exceptions were the Portsmouth, Wimbledon, Palace and Gillingham games.

That's why there was so much fuss about using the AMS as the basis for allocating Grimsby tickets. Although anyone who went to Grimsby without a ticket would have found that the Grimsby Telegraph were actually giving away free tickets on the day.

My guess is that the only real problem this season will be Colchester. And, just possibly, Rushden & Diamonds.
