No not them ones, it’s been done to death, I mean are there any songs that take you back to an historical away day?

I’ve just heard Aladdin Sane by David Bowie and it brings back clear memories of a coach trip I made on my own and had it on a compilation cassette I made for my Walkman the size of a lunch box for company.

Newcastle 1979, ten year old me had a little cry when we started singing “we’re proud of you” as the promotion winning team came over to the fans after the game

Although, to be honest, I'm not sure how it all fits together. This was my first season of going to away games on the Seagull Special train and I remember very well meeting my cousin and mates in the Thatched Inn (Hassocks) prior to going to games via car and train. This was 'our tune' and was played to death on the jukebox. In particular we were going to win the League Cup and definitely went to the Palace replay at Chelsea. I don't remember the latter match very well as found an unbelievable pub near the ground but did get to the game.

I went to that game left early & heard the 5th go in outside the ground. It was during the Christmas hols if I remember. Think Paul Wood scored for us.

I was listening to apoptygma berzerk on the way down to Plymouth when we got promoted. This album always reminds me of that great day. This track in particular
