As far as i am aware, you dont get the diary free, i believe you have to purchase it

According to the quote above it's included when you pay the £5 membership fee. Maybe the form should be attached to NSC somewhere as having a membership base of 350 or so can surely be improved upon? It's a tangible way of becoming a bit more involved with the club.

I agree the membership could be bigger especially when there is talk (only talk) of a supporter representative on the board.

If the membership was increased then this might increase the likelihood of a supporter representative being asked to join the board.

We have been members for quite a few years, not to sure why (apart from supporting the cause financially i suppose) as we dont benefit from being members, having said that a tenner a year for the 2 of us is hardly going to break the bank

I got a FREE diary last year (or maybe it was this year) but I think I read they're not doing them for next year as the club are giving them away instead...I think...or maybe it was just because nobody was really that bothered about receiving a FREE diary (except Yorkie).

Pat, if youre only 15 then you would qualify to come on the Junior Seagulls away coaches, subject to a £15 membership. Great days out and fully supervised. To my knowledge, this season there are trips planned to

Swindon, Millwall, Southend, Huddersfield, Oldham, Leeds, Luton and Bristol Rovers, there might be one or two more, and to my knowledge there were spaces on all the coaches. Lots of young uns your age too,

Why should the representative (if there was to be one), have to come from the BHASC? I think that quite a few fans feel that the Supporters Club is too closely tied to the club and would not dare to critisise, which could explain the low membership. Surely if there was ever to be a board rep, there should be no clause that it must be a fully paid-up "bobbler"! That would be undemocratic wouldn't it?

As someone who ISN'T a member of the Supporters Club, but has seen their top brass in action at close quarters during the Falmer Stadium campaign, can I just question the assumption that they "would not dare to criticise"?

When the need arises, they do dare. And sometimes they get things changed.

To add to that Brian, if you want to vote then become a member but don't assume the supporter's club is undemocratic when it isn't. Every one of the committee members has been voted in.
If you want to change things then join and change it.

I can't think why more supporters haven't signed up.

Because maybe not many people know about it or assume it's linked to going to the away games by coach? It's not really been promoted that much. Make it easier for people. Include an application form in every programme or let people sign up online!
