To be honest Doug i totally agree with you, the cost is stupid, and i dont think it should be anything like the cost that it is, on the odd occasion when im not in a hurry, and just for a change (nothing to do with the cost) i do drive up the M5 and come down the A40 etc, but it is a helluva round trip

Yes, but if you get an advanced ticket, it's about £9 - £14 for anyone at all.

Also, if you have a Blue Badge, this entitles you to get accross the bridge for free.

And how does one obtain a "Blue Badge" ? never even heard about those ? i used to have a "Tag" when i was going to bristol about 3 or 4 times a week

You have to be disabled. Ask your local council.
