Wham had everything as far as pop is concerned, and I bet if they turned up tomorrow, you would be questioning whether either of them really write a single line of their songs.

I still like the 17+'s, but I am also starting to like some 35+'s. On the other hand maybe I am just desperate.

And if you don't believe that, ask yourself why Britain hasn't produced a world famous solo star on that scale since.

JEM said:The reason is the all the pop acts today are cheesy manufactured talentless whippersnappers. The only reason that they are popular is because pre-teens and men and women without two brain cells to rub together fall for the only thing they have to sell - which is image.
As long as pop acts have a dance routine and look pretty in a pair of baggy jeans/mini skirt they are laughing all the way to the bank.
Any artists with any ability that might arise is lost completely in a sea of non-talented morons which wash over the charts. The only chance they might have of making it in this arena is if they are good looking AND talented - an incredibly rare combination in this day and age. There were some great solo artists up to the 1990's that looked like the back end of a bus, but had talent. Being ugly is unforgivable is today's pop industry. That's why natural talent won't get through.
