Day 2 of the Aussie test tour of South Africa is now complete. Pleasantly surprised (as an Aussie) to see that we're well ahead. Mitch Marsh made 96 to help ensure we posted a solid 351 first innings, and then the bowling attack timed things perfectly to bowl out South Africa for 162 close enough to the scheduled close to avoid our openers having to go out for a few overs. Lyon started everything with a double wicket maiden in just the 7th over of the SA innings, then Starc found some reverse swing to nip out the tail. Last four wickets feel in a 14 ball burst, 3 of them to Starc.
So a 189 run first innings lead, with 3 days to play, and Lyon to bowl on the fourth innings pitch when the time comes.
