  • Are you 16 or 17?
  • School or college not for you?
  • Want to earn qualifications?
  • Fancy representing Brighton & Hove Albion?

Albion in the Community is offering an exciting opportunity for youngsters to pursue a Futsal & Education Scholarship with the football club: study for a Level 3 BTEC, and play futsal for the Albion.

Futsal originated in Brazil and Uruguay – both countries have a rich football heritage – in the 1930s and 1940s as a solution to the lack of available football pitches. In Brazil, futsal is played by more people than soccer and several players, including Ronaldo, Fabregas, Zidane and Pele have progressed to careers as successful professional footballers.

First trial dates Wednesday 3rd April

I had some people come in and talk about this. Not for me. If I was less academic I'd consider it. Futsal is what the country needs to start developing better technique within youth football.
